Default ML stereo versus Base

What is the difference in the sound between the 2 stereos on an 08 400h? The ML has 11 versus 8 speakers. Does the Base stereo have a sub woofer? Matter of like 50 watts?

thanks.

I don't think either stereo has a subwoofer. My ML system does not. The front door woofers are fairly large, and have pretty good bass.

We just got a 2006 RX400h with the ML system and my sister has an 08 RX350 with base sound and the difference I hear is the ML sounds clearer and crisper.

If it helps in deciding between the two, I have the ML and just had the factory amplifier replaced. The service manager told me this was a common problem across all ML sound systems.

The cost for replacement for the 2006 ML factory amplifier was ~$1000 including installation. Fortunate for me, I was still covered under the CPO warranty.

WOWSERS!?! $1000 to replace an amp? I can't begin to think what type of after market amp you could get for that kind of jack. Of course, that's the cost of having everything integrated I guess... but that's just staggering.
