Default Higher mileage cars and maintenance: 60k+ miles

I searched but couldn't find anything on higher mileage cars.

I'm looking at a 2007 GSh with 68k miles; maintained every 5k miles according to the Lexus database. No major problems. Dealer's asking $31k which includes CPO. Haven't seen it in person yet, but looks promising. It's been on the market for 5 weeks.

What types of issues have you guys had with over 60k miles? This car includes the CPO warranty; I guess I'm worried about the hybrid system warranty running out in less than 35k. Any issues with the 2007s (first MY of the hybrid) so far?

TIA

hybrid warranty in usa is 8 years or 100,000 miles (which ever comes first).

for canada, hybrid warranty is 8 years or 160,000 km (which ever comes first).

if you are worried about the hybrid system warranty, consider getting an extended warranty.

I'm going to hit 100k soon. Not one problem with the hybrid system. This forum has been very quiet in regards to issues with their GSh hybrid system. It is very reliable. The GSh has also been raced with no problems in regards to the hybrid powertrain. There have been no changes in the system from 07-11 but they did figure out a way to make the trunk bigger starting in 2010.

Stormforge has good data as well.

Just rolled 77,777 this past weekend on our GSh and haven't had any issues to date. Bought it a year ago with about 69k miles on it. Similar to the car you're looking at all the maintence was done like clock work at the required time per Lexus.

I say if the car looks nice and feels right to go for it. Make sure you talk them down on the price as wholesale on these cars with miles is in the low to mid 20's.

see also my post #9 in this link regarding the prius:

if a 9 yr old prius is running strong, that's enough proof for me that the hybrid system is near bulletproof

Just hit 50K and have yet to have any problems, only problem I had was bad software, which was good since it was free, as well as the gas and cleaned car. As my service advisor said, it is very rare that he has seen a GS450h Hybrid come in for a major problem. I would go CPO, only problem is that price 31K I’d talk down to 28k I think 31K is high just my opinion.

Definitely not a good deal. I picked up my 2007 CPO GSh last Oct with 21K miles for $30,600. I also got 2 more years of Lexus extended warranty for $1200
