Default What MPG are you getting?

As this is a hybrid car which admittedly was designed for performance first and efficiency second, what kinds of MPG are you experiencing?

Climate is important as it seems to have a large effect. . so please mention what you ambient temperature is when making the judgment.

I've seen on Edmunds where people are experiencing all sorts of MPG from 19-32, but again there seems to be much more variability due to styles of driving.

Personally, on my commute to my office every so often, I get about 33MPG. To qualify that, it is mostly a highway commute of approximately 15 miles using the radar cruise control most of the way. .

When I've had a little fun with the car's prodigious amounts of torque, it usually drops down to about 25. . although complete abuse nets me about 19. .

I'm in San Antonio, and I've not been through the cold yet, so this is in temps ranging from the 70s to 100deg F lately ..

This is very close to what I get. 32-33 MPG on the highway easy in cruise from 60-70 MPH. City driving does kill it, I seem to avg 23-24 MPG in the city. As you stated straight abusing it, 19 MPG.

Overall I have averaged from 24 MPG a tank (70 city/30 hwy) and 29 mpg (70 hwy/30 city) a tank, amazing!

I could not be happier with the gas mileage.

I average 24mpg and I have 20s with a staggard setup. This is also 24mph with the occasional lead foot!

Remember, the GS450H has a 3.5 liter V6 with an electric motor(the hybrid). No V8 in this puppy! My old 99GS400 has the V8 ; )

Funny I notice a serious drop in performance going to some crappy gas stations. I only use Shell and am a firm believer they have great gas. I always use premium. Well due to traveling I have been forced to use Chevron and Quicktrip and RAcetrack. I noticed MPG was 21 in the city and my highway MPG dropped as well. This was the entire tank..

Finally getting home put some Marvel Mystery Oil and filled up with Shell. I noticed IMMEDIATE improvement back and even as high as 25 in the city, that is a new personal best. Right now I'm averaging 24 MPG and that is 100% city driving. Not bad at all!
