Default Question about day time running light

I would like to swap out my DRL / high beam for a white led or HID . I've heard and read this can get complicated .

I'm asking for some input if possible on what I would need to do to get both working and shooting white .

I appreciate the help guys .

Thank you

I say it's going to be tough being that the DRL is actually your high beam bulb just running at a reduced voltage to make it dimmer. I mean you could swap it out for a LED, but then you would have a a weak high beam.

I swapped out my parking light bulb for a LED and it looks pretty neat. But you have to manually go into the settings and turn off the DRL to get any effect.

Plus in Japan, they sell a CFL upgrade to the fog light that kinda looks like the "angel eyes" on a BMW.

Thank you for the info , I think I'll just do that .. Turn off the DRL , and change out the parking light bulb . I ordered a set of 10 for 10 dollars on amazon . I'm interested about what you said in Japan . Any pics of that on a HS, with the "angel eyes" or even on a BMW ?

Thanks again man !

Here's a link to the type of bulb to use for the parking light. Search Amazon for a look a like. You'll get close enough.

And a picture.

Here's a link and a picture of the fogs with the CFL's. I was thinking of doing this, but I can't figure out how to get the fogs to run with the parking lights only. The headlights have to be on. At least I think. I can't remember because my project now is trying to get the outside door mirror lights over to LED's. They are tough. I can't find the proper bulb except in Japan.
