You just pulled the pin and rolled a grenade into the middle of this forum ...

Passionate responses to follow ... for me, I'm going to duck and cover ...

Toyota doesn't make their own oil. Last I read it is made by Mobil 1 either buy that or try to buy at a dealer and pay more for the same oil.

Local dealership for oil filters as they are comparable to interwebs pricing and most likely to be genuine.

Toyota would not make their own oil, it would be blended to their specifications and I understand that Exxon is their current supplier, Although Mobil 1 & Toyota are similar, there are definite differences in the additive package and performance specifications. Here are Toyota oil & Mobil 1 additive components & specifications, these are subject to change

Thing is, at least in my 2011 manual, Toyota only seems to care that it meets ILSAC and is 0W-20, and the 2023 manual it just says ILSAC GF-6A, which is the latest version. They don't even require that the oil meet any specific Toyota spec like my F150 does with a Ford spec. So it seems like you can just dump in whatever 0W-20 you feel like and its fine as long as it meets the minimum ILSAC standard, which virtually any 0W-20 on the shelf these days would.

It's a 0W-20 motor oil. NOACK is never going to be good, but 9.8 seems fairly good as 0W-20's go.

Thats nice, I really like the conversation shifted to the make up of the oil itself BUT let me brig the thread back to the original question:
Where to people buy their OEM Lexus/Toyota 0w-20 oil???
if you don't buy OEM, I get it you have your reasons. BUT if you do buy OEM online... what's your go to site/store/vendor?

Amsoil is 8.5 which is still high. I know this is inherent to 0W20 oil.

Back to Toyota brand motor oil many dealers don't stock it or use it. Not intended to be an over the counter product buy it wherever you can find it.

I buy oil filters at Lexusparts.com. Never bought Toyota oil, even Lexus dealers do not buy that.

I get mine done at Lexus for $79 (usually less / sometimes as cheap as $59) with a free carwash/vacuum, brake pad measurement (they actually measure), battery test, and have some nice coffee and tea while I druel over the latest LX600 in the showroom. Just waiting for a GX550 to show-up that I can check-out in-person. No clean-up and no oil/filter disposal to deal with either.

Or - the 5-qt jug of Mobil-1 can usually be found for $35 or less online or at Walmart - add 2qt's or get a second 5qt and use the rest next time. Search authorized dealers for cheapest OEM oil element (include shipping when comparing). Much less than $90.

Like the OP - I would also run the Lexus/Toyota oil with their additive package if it was conveniently available for similar pricing. But I'm happy to use affordable Mobil-1 using a 7500 Mile OCI...
