Default Picking up new GX this weekend

All,

I should be receiving my GX this weekend. Any helpful tips that I should be aware of during the delivery?

I ended of trading my 2002 SC430 for this car. My wife is expecting w/ our first child and decided that the SC wasn't ideal for family transportation.

I'll be spending more time on this forum and look forward to all the great info that is provided.

Silver/Pine
Tan Leather
ML/GPS/DVD Ent

How can you tell if it has kinetic suspension? Is it after a particular VIN number?

The only way to tell is either put it on a hoist or crawl underneath and look for the hydraulic cylinders and fluid lines, also if the color is blizzard white and has a hitch, it may have the suspention. i have looked the early one over quite extensive and could tell if it has been changed. it is a crapshoot as lexus is not giving out any info on this. I think either way it will still have the rear air shocks and rear airbags with the added hydraulic (kenetic) suspention.

There is no suspension change in the 03' model years. There is speculation that the "kinetic suspension" will be implemented in the 04' model but not the 03.

modelaford ,

It is a 2003. I'll check on the kinetic suspension.

Hey Marty - WOW! I am in the same boat as you!

My wife is also expecting our first child (January 2003 - by the way congrats to you!) and I decided I needed a more family / practical car, so trading in my 2001 GS430 and have a 2004 RX330 on order. I liked the GX470, but I wanted something just a little smaller and more manageable (especially since my wife will be the primary driver of this vehicle).

It's tough parting with your other baby (your SC430), that is one sweet car. People tell me I'm crazy for trading in a GS430 for an RX330, but when it comes to family (especially your first), priorities seem to change. I never believed it before (I still won't get a MINIVAN), but I do believe now. And by the way the GX, as well as RX are still both beautiful rides).

By the way, don't you have another vehicle that could be your sporty car?

Congrats again!

lexguynj,

Thanks for the comments. I'm lookingh forward to the GX. I do miss the SC but I only had 10K miles on the car over a two year period. I'm also getting rid of a BMW X5 4.4i sport. I bought this when they first came out in early 2000. Great car but the BMW service it absolutely terrible. I will not buy another BMW based on that.

I have my eyes on the upcoming new Lexus sport vehicle (based on the GS430). Some of the Ney York card show pics are pretty impressive.

Good luck with the new baby.
