Can anyone assist me please. Battery cable (-)
Hi everyone...does anyone sell or have a alternate approach to replacing the battery cable (-) the part. Number is 8212235A40 it's for a 2005 gx470
I was told that the cable is going bad. This was after the car would try to start but then completely lost all power And when I jiggled the battery around I was able to get it started again. But I wasn't able to work the windows except for the driver side. So according to the dealer the cable wire harness is going bad.
Any advice and sell it.
Thanks !!!

The dealer advice sounds bogus. That's at least a $500 harness they're trying to sell you. .
You mentioned jiggling the battery. The battery should be fastened down solid and not be easy to move. Did you mean you jiggled the battery cables?

I've gotten tired of dealing with batteries and just replace them every 3 years now.
If the cable were going bad, I would expect a no-start, as that's when the most current is being drawn. Feel for lumps in the insulation, or areas that are warm (hopefully not hot!), indicating there's corrosion hidden under the insulation. Corrosion outside the insulation should be easy to spot visually. Next step would be to look for loose bolts, like on the battery connector itself, or where the cable connects to the body and engine.
Agree - the battery should not be loose in the engine compartment. That can damage it.
