Default Buying Tomorrow... Hopefully

Hello everyone,
I have been interested in buying a Lexus for a while now. I just sold my BMW X5 and have decided to go the Lexus route. At first I wanted the RX400h, but none of my cars have been that weak and small (no offense to any owners, I like the car but not for me). My BMW was a 4.6i and I had a Chevy Tahoe prior to that with an engine from a 2007 Denali (6.0L). So I feel like for me to be happy with my new purchase I want a GX. Will you take a look at this ad for me and give me your opinions? The miles dont scare me cause we have a 2009 4Runner with 151,xxx and the service records from mylexus.com are great. (Attached) Please let me know what you think asap!!! I'm going in tomorrow morning!! Thanks guys!

Looks legit, I drive by this everyday on my way to the gym. They have had it a while, should be able to get em down on the price a bit too. There is also one for sale at that place off 119 by CR 5 i think its an 04.Either way nice. We bought ours about 7 months ago, and we love it. I just bought new tires and all the stuff to change all the fluids. I would suggest doing it as soon as you get it, unless you know its been done. Also look for the radiator leak near the bottom driver side. I had to do mine, cost about 250.00 and a few hours of my time.

Looks pretty good, I saw the water pump and "T- belt pulleys" were done. Was the timing belt done at the same time? I mean one can assume but ya never know sometimes.

Some of the descriptions are really vague and is hard to tell what exactly has been done. The rear shocks were replaced, know what happened to the originals?

Looks like a cream puff and has had all the recommended service done. Should be a great vehicle for years to come.

And i definitely second doing the fluids. Even if you know they were done, I'd still re-do them so you know they are too your standard.

Thanks guys,
I just found out that it HAS been in an accident. Still has a clean title, but it has been in an accident. They won't budge on price. I found a 2004 GX with 93,000 on it for around the same price. Which way do i go?

The 2004 should have had the timing belt service done recently (if not, that's about $1400 or so).

The miles are a non-issue, other than that. I would go for the accident-free one.

Only other thing I can think of is Bluetooth (not sure when that got added)

They wont budge on the price? Guess thats why all their vehicles sit on the lot. Wrong business practice for a used car lot. I would keep looking, there are a ton in Longmont. Victory Motors on Main St. has one not sure the miles or condition. They're all over the place. Hold out, and get a good one.

+1

I'll sell mine for $17K. It's an '05 with 130K miles and it has every service record since day one from the first owner / I'm the second owner. It's fully loaded with a whole lot of upgrades to boot!

Hold out for '05 and newer... Bigger hp and more buttons.

What's the story on the wreck? Keep in mind the dealer may have no idea what happened other than what's on carfax. It may not be a biggie, but then again... Better to be safe than sorry.

rc: I really would buy yours, its awesome. Unfortunately I'm only 17 and thats out of my price range!

The story of the wreck is as it says on the Carfax, dealer has been useless. He said that he wants his dealership to go "global" and for that to happen he needed me to pay full price.

I decided not to go for the 04'. It has beer stains and cans under the seat, not a dealer I want to deal with.

But, on the upside, I found a 07' GX with 110,000, no accidents for 16,500. Interior needs a good cleaning but it is in great condition. Air suspension doesn't bottom out, I tried to do it on the test drive. Exterior is in great condition except for the rims. It looks as if they had a lot of time with the curb. I love it, made an offer and they are thinking and will let me know tomorrow!

good question on the warer pump.

Mine has it written "timing belt, seal & waterpump" This was a huge selling point for me

His is in the exact range that the first one you posted was in. $5 more? Am I missing something here? Not to mention the upgrades RC has had done on it.

I'd be damned if I overpay so he can take his dealership "global", no chance.

Agreed miles are not a biggie, and on the idea of going with the accident free one. Believe BT was added in 05?
