? about extended warranty and Battery
I'm not getting a straight answer as to whether or not the battery is covered under the extended warranty. Does anyone have the Platinum Lexus warranty and can you tell me if this will cover it? For what ever reason I have never received paper work on what is covered.
Also I don't think I'm going to wait around until it goes, I'm going to replace the battery due to age and would like to know if anyone has found a good price to purchase one, If so where?
Lexus wants 120.00 for a 4 yr 2 yrs full replacement 2 yrs pro rated.
Toyota wants 100.00
Thanks,
Sami

No comment on the Platinum warranty coverage as I don't know but I'm pretty sure they are 100% covered under the regular and CPO Lexus warranties.
FWIW, $100 - $120 is a very competitive price for a battery these days - have you checked your local parts store recently? AdvanceAuto offers the 27F Silver AutoCraft Battery for $104 - which I think this is a 36mo warranty. Since you don't NEED a battery right this very second, you can always be more frugal by watching & waiting for one of their 15-20% e-discount promotions from time to time (pretty much daily like right now). Or check out your local warehouse club like Costco.
Otherwise, if you're just debating b/w the two you inquired about, I'd go w/ the Toyota as it'll be the same thing (maybe a different label) but will have same warranty. Incidentally, most replacement batteries in US are made by Johnson Controls... just have different labels on them.
Good luck
