first of all not sure why you would want to do that .but.. could it work ?
dont think so ... ... maybe with a new computer , injectors , intake, plenum, t/b , block, wiring etc ... all being different from jan 04 an older ...

restatement
first of all... i didn't mean to down grade the intake system from a 06 to a 04... but wondering the k&n intake system fits... cause what people have done on this forum is get the same year intake system from a v8 4 runner, and install it in there cars... it's a direct swap over... and is know to produce a lil but more power, i'm just tryin to pull out some few extra horses in my gx... sorry for the incorrect statement on my previous thread...

ok ... so what your asking is will a 04 k&n kit fit on an 06 my... the best i can tell is it will fit ... the throttle body throat size is the same between the years .. even the air intake boot appears to be close enough ... minus the 06 has an extra intake resonator box toward the air filter side ... i dont see why it wouldnt work .. .. and yes same as 4runner v8 .. however the production change with toyota was aug 04 .... lexus it changed nov 04 ..
