Hello again all:

'04 GX470 here and about two years ago I installed a hidden-hitch trailer hitch on the back of our GX, works great pulling our pontoon, however I can't get the factory-installed hitch adapter (circular adapter) to work with my harness for our boat trailer.

--Is there a particular part # anyone knows that is the correct adapter to buy to convert the circular portion into the rectangular (3 or 4 prong) plug?

Is it a Lexus/Toyota adapter? I tried using a universal (Ford, Chevy) adapter and it would not work. The cut outs for the prongs are shaped different.

Check trailer wiring; White=ground, Green=right turn, Yellow=left turn, and Brown =running lights

Get a test light and make sure that there is power to the plug at the rear of the car. If you hit right turn, and both sides flash, it is almost always a bad ground. Same goes for left turn.

it is a very common adapter, you can pick one up at WalMart.
