stability control
Can anyone offer a reason why you would need to disengage the stability control. There is a button down next to the seat warmer that i have never used. Has anyone had to take this off (when you do, a light illuminates on the dash).

i am just not savy to the explanation given. So the differential lock (button with the "x"), should this be on during normal driving situations, rainy/slippery conditions, or offroading/getting unstuck. I have never messed with this button and I just feel as though I should know what it is used for. Still confused.

Don't use the diff lock anytime other than offroading. As CV said above, it turns off the VSC, puts the power 50/50 to the wheels (50% front, 50% rear), and if i recall correctly it activates the ATRAC (unless it's always on?)
hope that helps

Chances are you will never need to lock your diff. I live in Boston, and I have never use it. It is for severe off roading and deep deep snow. The GX handles pretty much every snow strom around here so far with no problem. If you engage the diff. lock on dry road, you will risk suspension damage.
Like someone has already mentioned, the diff. lock will lock in all 4 wheels and they will all spin at the same rate, just like a old fashion 4 wheel drive system. The diff. lock will also dis-engage the VSC, but the traction control stays on all the time I believe.
