Default PUTCO LED's vs. V-LEDS bulbs

What's the difference between these two kinds of LED's? Besides the price, are the PUTCO brighter or about the same as the one from v-leds? I read on a website that LED's are essentially not brighter than incandescent bulbs. LED's have some benefits over incandescent but doesn't necessarily mean you are getting more light. What are your thoughts on this?

At the end of day it is all about how reputable is the seller. I like v-leds better as they are very easy to work with, better selection, better pricing, you know what color you are getting (5k vs. 6k color) and how bright each is. Putco is very high quality as well and I have not heard anything bad about them. Which ever one you choose, you will be happy.

V-LEDs work GREAT for me! I love the H11 LED 5K fog light bulbs and all the M-SMTs are amazing.

I have bought both, and like the Putco LEDs better. V-LEDs are more affordable, but the LEDs I bought from them eventually died after a while. I recently decided to purchase some Putco LEDs from Steve @ XenonDepot and although they were really expensive, they have a lifetime warranty to back them up, so at least I know that Putco will replace them if they burn out. I especially like their new Stick LED T-Type LED for 194 bulb applications. It only has one LED, but the color is spot on (like a 5000K if you go with the white color) and worked perfect for my parking lights. It is also a LOT brighter than any of the LEDs I installed before from SuperBrightLEDs and from V-LEDs. Attached are some pics. They look blue in some of the pics, but in real life they are actually white. The bulb on the passenger side is a regular 194 bulb.

I have used Putco, SuperBriteLEDs, and VLEDs.

For the GX460, I found that VLEDs had every bulb that I needed.

Good quality and excellent service.

I was comparing one particular bulb, the 921, which is used for the backup light. By comparing the pictures of the bulbs from each site, it seems that the v-led has more LED's than the putco bulb, making it brighter than the putco, unless the technology used by the two companies is different. Has anybody purchased both of these bulbs and compared them to see which is brighter?

More LEDs does not equate to Brighter Light. Putco's new high wattage LED bulbs will be brighter than any other LED bulb in the market (automotive). They feature high quality Nichia LED diodes rated at 100 lumens per diode! They are also made right in Putco's USA facility located in Iowa :-)

I can attest to what Steve is saying. The LEDs I had for my parking lights before were "refractor" type LEDs which had LEDs all over the place. When Steve recommended I purchase the Putco T-Type Stick LED I was a little skeptical about it since it only had one LED. I even told Steve that I wanted to go with the Putco 360 LEDs based on the fact that it had more LEDs. I went with Steve's recommendation and purchased the T-Type Stick LED and not only was that one LED brighter, but it also delivered in the color, delivering a pure white color, which I would rate at 5000K.

I ordered some 921's a week ago and it's taking a very long time to ship, the website says the ship within 48 hrs., strange.... I don't know if they were out of stock or the warehouse was too busy but they haven't shipped yet. I emailed them and even called them with no response. What I don't like about it is that they charged my credit card already for items they haven't even shipped out. I hope I get them and it's worth the wait.

MickeyS - Please send me a PM with your order number so that I can take a look at your account. These bulbs ship directly from Putco so we need to wait on the tracking numbers from Putco before we can update your account. Send me a PM with your order info and I will get you some feedback. The 921 LED bulbs literally just got revamped by Putco so I know that the redesigned 921 LED bulbs are scheduled to ship next week. You are getting the new product (brighter and more durable).

Steve

btw... shamless plug... We now carry WeatherTech Floor MATS!! WOO HOO!!
