How Much Do Third Row Seats Weigh?
Anyone know off the top of their head how much the third row seats weigh?
If I had a scale I would pick each up and subtract from my normal, enviably low body weight. But I don't.
Thanks!

Surprisingly not as much as you would think. I would guess around 40lbs each. The 100 series and 80 series Land Cruiser third row seats are significantly heavier.

40 lbs sounds about right (a little less for one, a little more for the other since it's wider).
Mine are stored in the garage. The cargo volume is more important to me.

Just weighed one of mine (they're both the same, right?!). It was 31lbs, so that'd make ~60lbs for the pair. Darn good guess by chitown40!
My first thought was removing them probably won't do much for mpg savings, but then again removing 60lbs is saving 60lbs (captain obvious). More importantly to me, I appreciate having extra room in the rear cargo area with them removed. To that end, I removed my 3rd row on day three and they have been in storage ever since. Zero guilt.

60 lbs is 60 lbs so out they go! Although my 6 yr old loves to ride in them instead of the middle row, so we'll so how strong my resolve is!

62lbs is the weight of a great set of HeftyFab aluminum skids. So remove the seats add skids and your still even.

My wife bought her GX new before we were married, neither of us knew the seats were removable until about 8 years of ownership. I had always assumed it was bolted in, I had never heard of a 3rd row that could be removed.
I agree that unless you need them, pull them and leave them out.
