Has anyone replaced original shocks with original shocks?
I see that there are several possibilities for shock replacement, but I was wondering doe's anyone ever replace them with original type? Is the anyway to get them for less than the $500 plus price?

Yes I did a search. Yes I read your post on the subject. My question was looking to see if anyone replaced the original electrically controlled shock with the same electrically controlled shock. You used another brand. Thanks for the reply however.

Just bought a GX with 170k with the original shocks. They leak a little hydraulic fluid but are not bouncy yet. I would say they have done their duty over 11 years. I like to go OEM when possible so when the time comes (soon), I will replace with originals and keep the adaptive suspension functionality. They will hopefully last the remaining life of the vehicle. We are using it as a grocery getter, not an offroad rig so...

I'm also considering OEM when I replace my shocks. I'm just not sure it's worth the price.
I had a 2009 LX 570 in my possession over the weekend. I was considering a trade, but put it off for a while. I figure we can get a few more years out of the GX. While at the dealer, the first thing they did was ask about the suspension. They tested the air suspension too. I wonder how much of a hit we'd take on a trade if we didn't use OEM?
FYI, I was offered $13,500 for my 2006 with 135k miles, with ML and RES (no KDSS).

I had been looking at those too.
Set of four original shocks cost around $1330
http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-09-GX470-...ZSZvmu&vxp=mtr
plus $386 for the airbags

For individual parts and part numbers i found this

BTW i kind a like your thinking going original... why buy lexus if suspension will be swapped to regular stuff which you can get in 4runner.. (No offense to any one on the forum a lot of people have done great work of swapping and shared knowledgeable info. IMHO)
Thanks

Here is why. The adjustable suspension is cool, but that's it. A non-adjustable suspension will be just as good for a fraction of the price.
But if you like to fiddle with the little dial, then go for it.

What Morphine said is right on the money. I don't see my self investing more money into my truck. Meaning on the luxury part of it. Mechanical yes. like timing belt work ect... but the shocks and springs that I used are just fine for a truck that is only use as 3rd vehicle. Maybe 5k a year at must and the plan is run it to the ground... I had an 89 4runner for 15 years and sold it with 275k miles...

I'm interested in this as well. I recently replaced my Tacoma suspension and the GX ( new to me as of last week) feels very squishy even on the firmest setting. I know the wife would lose her mind if I ordered a set of KINGS for her GX to match my Tacoma
