Default 2004 Front & Rear Shocks

Finally got some nice weather to do the suspension on the GX.
Rear Shocks were cake to do but the front shocks you are going to put some elbow grease in there.
For the next one we already know to just take off Stabilizer bar and loosing up the bolt joint adapter 2 19mm bolts I think. Remove the top 3 screws and pull out. If it doesn't come down just grab a screw driver to separate it from the top plate."is stuck" like glue.
Good luck

Very nice. How is the ride? One thing to add is that there is a method where you do not have to use spring compressors.

The ride is way better than what I had in the last couple of years. The truck is use as 3rd vehicle now. Mustly local errands so the ride is worth the money I spent all 4 shocks and labor to my buddy to help me out. $550
Bilstein Shocks are nice.

Very nice. It's interesting to hear your ride is way better while some people say the same shocks are rough. I don't get it as I never felt the Bilstein are harsh. Any comment?

Any lift on your gx or is it still at stock ride height?

I need to replace my wife's shocks and just debating on options. She does not want any kind of lift, but I would like to go to coils instead of the air bags.

Thanks

IMHO It looks like the same hight as the OEM. To make your job easier take the crossbar out. At first I was been lazy but on the second one I decided to just do it and it was so much easier. Good luck

Did you set the spring perch at the lowest setting for the front?

If it's on the lowest setting with the same stock springs it should be the same ride height

Just did my shocks and struts with the Bilstein 5100's. Had a heck of a time compressing the front shock enough to get it in place. Finally taking the two bolts that hold the ball joint on gave me enough room (with a generous pry bar-down) to get them in place. I don't know what I would have done if I chose to use one of the other adjustments (up). The ride is exactly what I wanted.

My experience as well. I just removed the lower control arm.
