Gas Mileage by tire pressure
I have been getting very bad gas mileage as of late for commuting. I have to refuel after about 230 miles. Averaging about 10-11mpg on roads that are 40 and up (though there are about 6 major lights on the way to work).
Can anyone tell me what tire pressure they are running. I generally lower the pressure a bit to have the truck ride a bit better. I haven't check it as of late, but just wondering what everyone else is set for.
Thanks,

Tire Pressure
I may not be much help, only had my GX a week today, but when we got it, we checked the tire pressure and it was at about 41psi, we put it at 32psi (which is what they recommend in the book). Didn't think about gas mileage, but wanted the best ride we could obtain. Don't really know what kind of gas mileage we are getting, since it is so new. The first tank was awful, but the next tank was a lot better. The miles we have put on it, thus far, have mostly been highway with some in town driving. I've always heard cars get better mileage after several thousand miles are on (10,000...), we will see if that is true, I guess. Good Luck, isn't it a great truck!

The 1st few tanks are always the worst cause the engine is so new and all the high points have to wear down Thats why they say to take it easy for the 1st 1000 miles cause that will reflect the performance and economy of the engine.
I always got the best gas mileage after 10k, also the 5speed tranny is made for highway crusing it is geared low for torque off the line with offroad and towing so when you stop and go the mileage is gonna suck.
Remember man it is a V8, gas guzzling is it full time job

I've had my GX for 1000+ miles -- I've been averaging 13.4 according to GX computer. My miles have been mostly city with a trip to the mountains once a week the past four weeks. I hope it gets a little better once the engine breaks in.

I have been averaging 13.5-13.9 according to the computer, but the computer is wrong. Everytime I calculate from the miles driven (tripometer) to the number of gallons filled, I notice it's more like 10.5.

I have found that trip computer on my car is high by 2mpg. Calculating by miles divided by gallons; last tank of gas (all city, very flat) was 14 mpg. Last tank all highway was 17.7. My GX has about 2200 miles on the odometer.

We have found the computerized gas mileage to be about 3 miles to the gallon off (to the better of course). Getting decent mileage, but not great, only have around 2,000 miles on my GX, so hopefully it will get better as it breaks in...still love it!

1200 miles, fuel commputer shows 18.6 but my pack fill is always from 17.4-17.7. pack fill is a very accurate way to tell MPG. Thus my fuel commputer shows aprox 1 MPG high form actual. These engines are real tight and should loosen up around 8-10K. My milage is all city driving so far. It has also been very cold here like -25 to 30 above so I do not consider it too bad. Use nothing but 87 octane that has ethonol 7-10% mixed with it in our state.

We've got 5000 miles now. The computer shows 16.8 mpg, my math says 14.7 mpg. That was both highway and city. And that's with 93 octane gas. I found I had 32 psi in the tires. I've moved the tire pressure up to 36 psi to see any difference. I also filled up with methanol blended 89 octane.
