As a owner of a 04 GX470 without ML and Navi, I'm 100% proud of my car most of the time.
However, the stereo is just simply not good enough for me.
So right now I'm thinking upgrade it a little bit,
Don't wanna start before check with your guys first.
My budge is 500 usd, and if the head unit can combine with a navi, I will be more than happy to pay 300 more.

I really like to keep the whole dash board neat, so proberbly I will buy a cast from beatsonic.

You may have to get the Beatsonic piece painted by a bodyshop, most of the time these come in black and do not match the gray dash. I am pretty sure even your non-ML uses an 8 ohm multichannel amp and speaker solution. It's difficult to impossible to find decent 8 ohm replacement speakers, easiest solution is new speakers and amp, but on the cheap you could feed the amp input from the existing HU. If you look around you can find the wiring diagram for the existing stereo. At your budget you will need to do all the install work yourself. $800 is probably more reasonable with used parts.

And you searched the GX Forum? I thought there were dozens of threads about upgrading radios and DIN made for GX's?
