No Sound from Radio 04' GX470
Hello All:
Need some help with the radio on my 2004 GX470.
No sound from radio. Nav and sound for Nav work fine. Radio comes on with no sound. Checked all fuses with no problems. Replaced amplifier with a new amp. Still no sound.
I checked the new amp before installing and it was in good working order.
Is there any special procedure that needs to be done to get the stereo to recognize the new amp?
Still no sound.
Thank you in advance for your comments and suggestions.

If you have replace the Amp, Only check the continuity . Just follow the following.
1. Disconnect the Amp Connectors and the radio.
2.Check Continuity ( TX+ and TX-) from Audio Head to the Amplifier.
3.Confirm there is NO contiunuity to ground on the TX+ and TX-.
4. If there is continuity, the wiring needs to be replaced. And run this check final.
5. If there is Continuity then you need to check the AMP unit ( Better to have a Pro done for the checks )

Stereo is not working...Amp good, radio good. Both sent out to be checked. Reconnected and installed both; ignition switch turned on ,radio worked. Turned on car, radio stopped working....Any ideas?

Does it still work on accessory(key on) but not when engine is running?

What’s the output voltage of your alternator? It could be putting to many bolts out if the regulator failed.
Also check your amp fuse. The radio powers the nav speaker without the amp.
So check for power and ground at the amp.

Pins 7 and 16 should have power with the key on. Pins 2 and 3 should be ground all the time.
You may may have something back feeding through the ground on your amp when the engine is running. That or it blew a fuse when you started the car. I’d be curious as to why it blew a fuse.. if that turns out to be the case.
Blowing fuses isn’t something that should happen on things like this.
And what was rebuilt on the amp and radio? You said they were sent off.... so I’d be curious as to what they had to do to fix it(even if it only lasted one key cycle).

Nothing rebuilt. NJ said Amp fine.
I took a break from all of this. Now back at it. Took car to Radiomedics twice with no luck. They could not locate the problem. Still no sound.
NJ states radio and amp working. Fuses fine.
I am thinking when I upgraded by Nav. DVD something went wrong.
I need to know what DVD started in the 2006 Gx. Maybe if I switch back to original DVD they system will work? Idk
