Coolant Leak? Definite Smell
I am shocked that no one else has mentioned this problem as well. I have had this problem on all three GX's.
I smell a burned coolant smell from the engine compartment when standing near the front left or right fender. Everyone keep a nose out for this one because I have reported it to Lexus at least 5 times over all of the GX's and they've always ignored it.

Hmmmm....
Now that you mention it, sometimes after driving I can smell something as well. I never really thought much about it. Mine is a faint smell that reminds me of that "new engine" smell... you know, that smell the engine gives off the first 100 miles or so. I'll have to pay more attention to it.

I would definately tell the service writter! Just keep mentioning it....every time. That way, even if they do not find anything, it is documented. Then, say at 55K, when it is out of warranty and the water pump fails (or something similar), you can say "told ya so" and get her fixed for free (most likely).
