Yes, there is a new engine VVTI in the 2005 GX470 which is supposed to produce 270 hspwr. And it will also have the 4th generation navigation system. This vehicle will become available December 2004. Until then it's 2004's until November. It just depends on if you are in need of any extra power or Bluetooth capability. I do not beleive the exterior is changing though.

There was a Toyota press release on the 4.7L V8 in the new Tundra for '05 and 4-Runner.
The 4.7L in the Tundra produce 282bhp and I think 325lb-ft of torque.
The 4.7L in the 4Runner produces 270bhp and I think 320lb-ft of torque.

i don't trust these dealers, i'd rather wait for it to come out than ruin our minds about if it's really gonna be 270 hp, .... and blah blah blah whatever they say.

Toyota 4Runner is a confirmed 270... it's updated on the Toyota Website. I'd assume the same engine for the GX470.
4.7-liter DOHC 32-valve EFI VVT-i V8
270 hp @ 5400 rpm/320 lb.-ft. @ 3400 rpm

2005 changes and lemon law reply
Just finished going to battle with dealer and Lexus Customer satisfaction about the vibration and clunk issues in my 2003 GX 470. For me the dealer did me justice. They have ordered me a 2005 GX 470 for delivery early December, purchased my 2003 with no out of pocket expense, and gave me 2004 RX 330 loaner for use until my 2005 arrives. Word from manager is 2005 will have larger engine, blue tooth, 4th generation navigation w/back up camera, and satellite radio. Will advise if everything works out as laid out in my purchase order come December. Good luck to the rest of you guys out there. T

Hi Guys,
New to the Forum, but my family has owned 3 Lexus' (currently a ES, past two were LS's)
Nice to know these changes are being made to the GX. This will most likely be our next car.
When should we be able to place an order for a 2005 MY? Will it still come with KDSS? Nice to hear how satelitte radio will be offered.
