2006 Lexus GS 300
Ok i have decided i want to get a 2006 GS 300 i have seen..73,000 miles looks clean.I originally was going to try and get an ES 350 but have decided to go with something a little more sporty.I checked the carfax on it and it had two separate accident damage reports..both the same area (front left impact).Anything i need to be concerned about with the GS300 from 2006??Thanks a lot Lexus ownere.

that was the first year of the 3rd gen gs and the last year with the inline 3.0l 6. after that the 3gs went to the 3.5 v6.
good engine, but thirsty.
good luck.

it was same GR engine as 3.5l, just 3.0l and 50hp less. So should be less thirsty, and a bit less powerful too.

Thanks for the advice...i just started checking out a 07 450h GS and that seems like it might be even BETTER...more mileage (100,250) and about the same price and upon doing a little research so far it seems like a rock solid choice..very few problems i can find on it if any.Im going to check this forum a bit to see what you guys have been posting about it.

How do you define thirsty? I get about 22 mpg in mostly stop n' go driving. From a 10 year old, 3700 lb. awd luxury car with a 245 hp V6. The 3.0 is a crap engine, for it's oil burning habits, but it is not a gas guzzler.

I agree. That 4.3 V8 may well be the ultimate Lexus motor. Before the direct injection bungle, and hey, don't you wish you had a V8?
