Hi all,I was looking at the Consumer Reports website and I stumbled upon this recall on 2006 lexus models: 1,328 GS 300, GS 300 AWD, GS 430, IS 250, IS 250 AWD, and IS 350 vehicles.It says "Front seat-belt retractor may not function properly.Have dealer replace front seat-belt assemblies."I was just wondering how come I never received any notice in the mail from Lexus re:any kind of recall going on with my 2006 IS 350.Just my two cents.

 

They most likely fixed the problem before you even purchased the car.

 

I havent fixed mines yet.

 

Not all 2006 IS cars are covered by the recall. If you didn't receive the notice, you probably aren't affected. If you want to check, get your VIN and compare it to the list here: http://199.79.180.162/prepos/files/A...6V121-7743.pdf

 

I had a problem with mine but it corrected itself after a few strong pulls. I made a service appointment but cancelled it, as after 6 months it only happened once and I would have had to drive 2 hours to have it replaced and the local Toyota dealer told me they would not be able to handle the repair. Also, the Lexus dealer told me my IS350 was not included in the campaign…they were prepared to replace the unit at no cost none the less.

 

Hum . . my seat belt or my wife's passanger seat ? ? Just kidding . . .
