Annoying things that Lexus didn't see fit to grace us with on the 3GS
Don't get me wrong, it's a great car, but Lexus have overlooked some very simple things that the 3GS should have. They are, in my opinion, as follows:
1. A sunglasses holder where the sunroof controls would normally be (when there's no sunroof).
2. A boot (trunk) light that comes on automatically, and therefore, one that you can't leave on accidentally.
3. Illumination on the seat memory controls and door lock buttons.
4. Variable illumination levels on the footwell and door handle lights.
5. Brighter puddle lights.
6. A rear (boot/trunk and passenger area 12v power point.
7. Cooling ability in the armrest and/or glove compartment.
8. iPhone compatible bluetooth (for phonebooks).
9. 20" Vossen whels from the factory (just kidding, but I can dream goddamit!)
Anything I've missed?

1) agreed, that area can be improved
2) i can't remember, but i believe in my car the trunk light comes on automatically when it's opened (and off when closed)
3) door lock button yes, seat memories i don't care as much
4) not a big deal to me
5) not a big deal to me but can be improved i think
6) for a larger car, maybe (LS)
7) i don't see this happening when it's not even feature on higher end cars?
8) gen5 nav was the problem. i believe starting gen6 (2010) you can transfer iphone phonebooks?
9) i rather have stock

1. Not a helpful answer but I've never seen a Lexus without a sunroof. Weird.
8. Blame Apple. On Gen 5 Nav, you have to push the contacts to the car via bluetooth. iPhones don't do that. Rominl is correct. Gen 6 starting in 2010 is the first one to get around this. They made it so the car will pull the contacts from the phone without them having to be pushed from the phone.

My Hyundai i40 has a cooled glove compartment, cooled armrest cmpartment and powerpoints in the rear and the boot/trunk.
Most mid range Audis in the UK have cooling facilities in the glove compartment for example.
A sunroof is an uncommon optional accessory in the UK and Northern Europe. Although panoramic roofs are becoming popular now.

#2 got me, not gonna lie... Two weeks in a row (I don't drive my GS often) I came out to a dead car, and totally forgot I left that damn light on. You'd think they'd have an auto light, being a 2008 and all.

There's an On/Off switch, but when left On the boot lamp turns itself off automatically when the boot is closed (at least on my 2010 450h) - tested with a cell phone taking a video inside the boot...

Not on the '08 460 I'll test it later, but it lead me to believe I had a bad battery, until I remembered that damn light; flipped it off and never been a problem since.

Both, additional powerpoints and cooling armrest console/glove compartments are very common in mid range cars in the UK.

i am pretty sure mine did the same too. i never had to turn it off, every time i opened the trunk it's on. i believe some people did the test and with the light on, he left the ski pass through open, closed the trunk, and the light turned off

2. It turns off when you close your trunk (I tested this theory through the opening of the backseat)
3. Maybe, probably on a LS... I've seen em on MBZ which looks cool but then we'll probably face more reliability issues with electrical.
4. I like the dim light given. Gives it of a more calm ambience.
5. Same as above.
6. Same as number 3. Although I thought of something dumb like propane for BBQ tailgating. Haha.
7. Yes
8. Don't care much since I can use a BT and not fiddle with contacts on the screen while driving.
9. Vossens? Nah, although it would be great if they had an optional 19" rays/volks like Nissan.
10. Optional supercharger for the GS430/GS460. (Now that's whats missing!)

I posted something similar not long ago.
I wish seats had more unjust adjustment.
Wish the instant mpg had a metering from 0-30 instead of 0-100 . Then I gain I got a 430 so fuel economy was not that important to me.
Wish the suspension setting had comfort/ normal/ sport .
Sport setting is useless as its just jarring.
Also sound system could be better.
And finally. A dash that doesn't rattle like a 88 mustang GT dash. My 92 Lincoln has less squeaks than this GS

3gs came out during the infancy of the LED trend. So my biggest gripe is that the interior lights aren't bright enough.
The whole interior has the output of a 10w light bulb.

Missing from the 3rg
Blind spot indicator. I've owned the 2nd Gen since 2005 and it has taken me 6 months to adjust to the terrible blind spot on the passenger side in my 2010 GS350.
