Default Ride comfort factors?

I have a 2007 430 rwd that I lowered on NF210s. I cut about 0.5in off the bump stops during install. I'm on stock 18s and 33psi.
Most of the time, the ride is great. It's the small sharp bumps in the road that feel bad. On the freeway, when there is a 1" sharp bump/transition to a bridge or offramp, the car does not absorb this well at all. It's almost like I'm hitting the bump stops. I can't imagine riding daily on the DF210s with 20s if this is how the NFs should feel with stock 18s...
Bump stops?
Tire preasure?
Tires?
What is causing this harsh feel on small sharp bumps?

Have you checked the struts to see if they're damaged?

They seem fine. Car only has 60K on it, and it's not bouncy either. Tires are wearing fine also. Just seems harsh....

Yes. How would that effect ride comfort? I also didn't cheap out on the alignment and went to a reputable shop

i just changed my tires on my stock rims to the goodyear eagle to save a few dollars… what a big mistake. ride quality changed dramatically. bumps in the road are harsh and makes a loud thump when i hit uneven surfaces. seems like the car rides totally different…(for the worse). i'm already thinking about changing them out! what tires are you running?

When I bought the car it had brand new Capitol Sport UHP tires. They seem to get decent/good reviews, but I imagine that is heavily dependent on tire profile and the car they are on.

I have a very nice ride on my stock height AWD on Kumho Ecsta LX Platinums. I wouldn't trade the ride for cosmetics any day. The ride is even better when I put my little winter steel rims on with big tall and narrow winter rubber.

Warandcar...I'm beginning to wonder if it is the tires too. The ride really didn't change THAT much after the drop (nf is small drop), and it is always a little hard to remember exactly how it felt over certain parts of the road before the drop. I'm wondering if I just notice it slightly more now...

I got a 430 too and on good roads it's awesome, but it's not a soft car by any means. I wish we had a soft setting for the suspension instead of sport.
430 is also lower than awd models, and has 18s that most awd models don't.
Struts are in good condition, new Dws continentals.

It's just a stiff 4 door sports car. On the flip side, the handling limits are just astonishing. Way more than any 4 door car should have or needs on real daily basis. I tried power sliding at various speeds, you know just a small Bmw type tail swing and it's impossible to do so, a few times I even got the skid control to kick in. So I think it's truly impossible to loose control of the car, unless you turn the wheel all the way left going 100 mph. I haven't tried that one yet. So that makes the car a very safe one, and that I truly appreciate, especially since my little girl is riding in the back.

Now my Lincoln Lsc, I can do 40 mph slides into the turn and come out perfect , dukes of hazard type stunts... I love that car.
