5w-30 vs 5w-20

I'm tempted by 5w20 but Not sure about using the thinner oil for the 152000miles my car has covered! I do a round trip of 150 miles, 4 days a week, in my GSh and it's due an oil and filter change. Should I stick to the 5w30 due to excessive mileage, or give 5w20 a shot? I'll also add some of this stuff as was recommended highly by the Lexus independent i visited recently!

I'm new to the Lexus bough an 06 GS300 AWD with only 54,000 kms on it, I've put another 3,000 kms since buying it.
Just did an oil change and opted for 5w-20... not sure what was in it before BUT did notice as it got colder out ( note: location ON, Canada ) the engine was noisy ( tick ) sounding on morning start ups.
I've put 500 kms on this oil change using the 5w-20, the cold starts are much better ( less noise ) but I haven't really noticed any increase in fuel economy ?
I went to the 20 for cold start and will switch back to 30 in the spring.

My car burns about 1L every 1000-1200 km's using 5w-30 in the warm seasons and a little bit less during winter.
I have now started using a 10w-30 high mileage to try to cut my oil consumption down....
Good or bad idea?
Kendall 5w-30 synthetic blend
to
Castrol 10w-30 high mileage

a thicker oil is conventional for what you're aiming for... It would def help.
I would go for Redline 5w-30, as it's pretty thick oil for what it is. and people have had good results on killing oil consumption on it. Redline also preserves your engine better than a lot of other oils OTC.

Reading up on this ZX1 micro oil, it seems to have a lot of excellent reviews across different forums and websites selling it! They claim it also reduces fuel consumption due to reducing friction of the working parts (rod bearings, main bearings, piston rings, valve train etc).
Reckon I will give it a shot, they say it also lasts for up to 25000 miles so good for about 2 oil changes before needing to add more!
Think I'll try this stuff with 5w20 even though shes done 155k now! Shall keep u posted!!

Just to add, I've ordered 5w30 Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W-40 Ester Synthetic and 250ml of zx1 micro lube plus a lexus oil filter. So I'll see if there's any difference after the oil/engine treatment!
