sounds like exhaust has a hole in it
Hi,
I have never experienced this before but my 2006 GS 300 sounds like its exhaust has a hole in it. i have searched around over here and noticed some threads on exhaust leak. Is it the same thing?
What would you guys recommend that i should do? The car has 73k miles on it and i dont think this will be covered under any kind of warranty via lexus.
I will take any suggestions that you guys may have.
Thanks in advance and Happy New Year.

Bring to a well reviewed independent muffler shop for inspection. If there is a rusted out area they will want to cut it out and replace that section with stainless steel. Depending on how bad things look elsewhere you may want to cut out more.
I asked once about it though they said at the time they couldn't really see any leak, it was a higher end type place that does custom exhaust work... they said cutting out both of the troublesome sides where the heat shields are after the cat and replacing with stainless would be around $400.
