Default Hole in exhaust under heat shield

I've got a 2007 Lexus IS 250 and noticed a raspier sound coming from the exhaust (driver's side) recently. I had a look under the car and noticed a small hole under the heat shield just after the O2 sensor. Any thoughts around how this could be repaired? I was thinking of bringing it in to see a mechanic to have it repaired. I've attached a pic.

I don't think so -- JB weld is not meant to withstand that kind of heat.

I'd bring it to an exhaust shop rather than a mechanic. You need a place with a competent welder to cut out and replace the corroded sections of pipe.

There is putty that designed for working on an exhaust; good for when in a pinch. BUT, I also recommend your local exhaust shop weld it up.

There is high heat JB weld especially for exhaust applications. If it's just a small hole I would just plug it up.
