ENGINE NOISE STARTUP (similar, yet different from other problems)
So I did a search in the hopes of finding a solution to my problem..no luck there. I noticed some of you have had problems regarding a metal-like clashing noise upon startup. I myself have experienced this problem a few times, taking it to the dealer (they weren't helpful at all).
But in my case..the first few times this became a problem, I would step on the brake, hold the engine button, and the cranking sound would last for only a few seconds before the engine started like normal.
In the past couple of weeks however, this problem has gotten worse. Now instead of hearing the noise for a few seconds and having the engine start, the engine just seems to studder and hold that cranking noise for well...what seems like forever. The engine won't even seem to truly start. Just keeps cranking until I eventually push the engine button again to cut power. When I try to start it up again, the same problem happens. I have a sub in the back and even that tweaks out whenever this occurs. Just hear the loud booming bass in one very loud annoying beat till I shut the car off.
Eventually after numerous times and playing with the brake pedal a bit...I'm finally able to start the car...again, this isn't a normal problem for me, only once in a great while. My first though was a possible faulty brake sensor on the pedal (since I know you have to fully press the pedal in before you can start the car) but I am unsure. I'm wondering if anyone has insight to this since the dealer obviously isn't any help. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Although considering it keeps cranking then yeh it could be ur batt.. have it texted... Mine was getting weak and i just picked up an odyssey batt for my 07 gs350 yest. Those are supposedly the best batts u can buy, even better than the optimas.. they go for bout 300

sorry for the late response guys..these past few weeks have been pretty stressful for me..but I still have yet to find out what the problem is..considering I just put a single 12 in. sub and a shuriken battery (I'm told these batteries last a lifetime). everything was professionally installed including the battery..so I'm thinking it might be the starter..I also have about 38,000 on my '08. oh well at least it only happened once this past week..still bugs me though..

Good luck with this bud. I'm thinking it might be the starter as well. That's why I'm kind Of hesitant to do any custom work to my car. I just want to be able to bring it right to the dealer so there are no second guessing... Let them worry about it... And I get a loaner lmao... Good luck
