Default Low tire warning question

Quick question - this morning our low tire warning light came on for a few minutes (maybe 5 minutes) then went off again. The tires are definitely not low. Is it possible that it was "sensing" another Lexus' sensor nearby (there was one right behind us), or is this not a radio-wave thing? (Obviously, I have no clue how the tire sensors work).

It should not sense the other Lexus' tire pressure sensors since each TPMS computer has the ID# of the tire pressure sensor that is installed in your car programmed into it. I would adjust the tire pressure on all 4 tires when the tires are cold and re-initialize the tire pressure setpoints.

i doubt it's sensing another car.

was it right when you start the car? could it be the pressure is right at boundary, maybe around 29/30psi?

The pressure probably increased when the tires warmed up.
One or more of them is low, add air to the ones that are.

Be advised that the main reason tpms exists is because the tires dont "look" low bc they are run flats. therefore you need to physically check them with a gauge.

Did you park your car outside overnight? Sometimes the cold drops the pressure enough for the light to come on. I usually just increase the pressure 2-4 psi so it doesn't happen again

I think the tpms is crap. When I had my rim fiasco I was ridind around with no sensors and the system didnt even make a noise or alert me that anything was wrong. I just check the pressure every 4-6 weeks. I am running high pressures in my tires to avoid dents and I live in AZ so the temp will probably be 100+ in a few months( it was in the low 80's today) therefore the pressue can jump up really quick
