I tried to replicate this problem with the other doors and it seems that it is also a little harder to close them when all the other doors are closed but you don't have to slam it as hard as drivers door.
Also, when i opened sunroof(let air to escape), the driver's door closed perfectly, with no effort.
So, it seems that it can be contributed to airtightness

wow, there's our answer then. These cars are built darn well. although i just read in a magazine that 17% of people involved in an accident with airbag deployments suffer permanent hearing loss because of the air pressure difference when the bag explodes. It seems that this would be a real bad problem in a car as air tight as the GS. On that thought, are the new LS owners having this same problem. If the GS is air tight, the LS would be super air tight and thus it should be hard to close those doors as well.

No problems with my 06 GS 300. These are solid, well built luxury cars that should not have light, 'tinny' doors. Try older model Mercedes before their quality went down hill. My 82 MB 380SL has some of the heaviest feeling doors. Takes some muscle to open and close.

All the doors on mine close smoothly and evenly. I hit them a couple times a year with white lithium grease as I have on all my vehicles. Even my 15 year old Exploder that sits outside all the time has smooth operating doors and latches. I stay away from WD-40 as it will pick up and collect dirt as it sits there.
