VSC and VSC OFF lights come on randomly?
What's up evrryone I have an 01 430 with 148k and lately when I turn the car on the vsc and VSC off lights come on and stay on. Then when I turn the car off and back on again it goes away. Does anyone know why this could happen?

Damn man Im afraid your right. I was having problems with the battery and alternator. Sometimes the car wouldn't start but after replacing the battery it felt better but sometimes I do feel like the car has more power then other times. Now I'm almost 100% positive my altenator is going out. What should my altenator be testing at? What determines if it's bad?

I never use aftermarket anything on this car except maybe air filters, this car doesnt drive the same when I use aftermarket parts. What do you mean dont get a rebuilt one? Dealerships ONLY sell rebuilt ones, when I called to ask how much the dealer wanted $283 no tax and thats with the shop discount (20% and no tax) that I get for a rebuilt one. Not sure they even have brand new ones anywhere just like the starter, its always rebuilt.

Refurb the alterternator if you can, saves me alot of £ in the UK. Remove it yourself if you can, usually not a hard job to do with only a few bolts to loosen, mind never done one on a GS though
