my neighbor has a White 2006 Xterra. It has been a reliable vehicle for her. But she and her daughters are in love with my GS4 and were blown away when i told them i have twice as many miles and 6 years older. But to each his own, the xterra is not an attractive vehicle to me. Big ol unpainted grey bumpers. Unless your GS is just getting old to you and you want to move into something fresh i understand. Regardless, good luck with whatever you decide.

I'm with offbad on this one. If it makes sense to you, it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. In general, cars age by miles, not by years. So, these two vehicles are approximately the same age. However, after a while age takes its toll on some parts whether they are used or not, such as seals, hoses, etc. So, you would expect some items on the 2000 to need replacing before a similar item on the 2005, all other things being equal.
Having said all that, it depends on the condition of the vehicles. If the GS has been maintained and serviced regularly and the Xterra has not, it would not be wise to make that trade, IMHO. And vice versa, if the Xterra has been maintained and the GS has not, it probably would be best to make the trade. I don't think you have given us enough information to give you an informed opinion. What ever decision you make, go into it with as much information as you can about both vehicles.
