GS 400 1998 Love this car but . . .
I purchased this car about 3 yrs ago with 108,000 miles. Black on black - looks great. Now has about 140k and still runs runs great. I just had the a new alternator put in. Other than that, essentially no problems ever other than routine maint such as breaks, oil, etc. This morning I stuck my key into the dash turned it and heard just a little click but no turning or any other signs of life. I'm assuming I may neeed to rplace the starter.
It has a fully charged newer baterry.
Does anyone have an Idea other than the starter having gone out?

What was the issue? I tend to favor a lose battery cable connection. The other person suggested corrosion on the terminal, that can reduce contact and prevent starting...

i had the same problem on my 99 GS400... its your starter contacts and plunger... you have to change them.

read this.. on the 2nd page shows you how and what to do.. i have general knowledge of cars. and did this myself.. it was easy without any issues.. if you bring it to a dealer they will charge you 1k+ for the job.
I did it myself for 80 dollars for parts and thats it.
I bought my parts from Lexuspartsnow.com
