Default Question for those of you with Q45 retros?

What HID bulbs are you all going with? My retros have the D2R housing but I want better light output and the D2S doesn't fit. Aside from modifing the D2S bulb any other options?

Q45 have terrible light output, they are only aesthetically pleasing (to some).

Run different projectors if you want a nice output.

Sorry to say he is right bro...I was saying this in the PM.....Horrible is an understatement. The bulb is not the problem, its the multi lenses with poor cut off. But boy do they look nice....LOL

The Q45's I've seen use d2s bulbs. D2s are for projectors and d2r are used with reflector housings. While the Q45 output isn't nearly as good as many other projectors, it's a definite improvement over the stock GS hid reflectors.

The light output is fine, it's just the cutoff that people complain about lol.

My Q45 retro uses D2S not D2R, so op I think you got it switched around
Anyways you can just buy the D2C bulbs, I bought the 6000K and I'm pretty happy with the light output

I purchased a set of D2Cs from Hidonlinestore.com. The lights have been sitting around for 9 months now so I'm going to go ahead and put them in when the new bulbs come in the mail.

I've done the cheap bulb thing before, my recommendation is to spend a little more and get quality bulbs from the start, xenondepot is a sponser here and their bulbs are worth the extra cash up front imo.
