Default Cost to Adjust Headlight Positioning

I replaced my driver side headlight and I think in the process I moved the reflector bowl a little bit. Either that, or it was already pointing the wrong direction. The headlight is shining to the outside, away from the car horizontally, more so than my passenger headlight.

Do you guys know how much it would cost to have my headlights aligned correctly. Ever since I got my car back from the body shop a few months back all of the lights have been out of whack.

I tried to adjust the lights myself, but my high beams are still off and I want to my high and low beams in spec.

I believe someone mentioning this in another post. If I remember correctly there are bolts that adjust the lights horizontal and vertical. Gotta search playboy!

It's easy to do yourself. Find a wall (preferably white) with no ambient lighting, a level surface that allows you to park 10 feet from the wall (Toyota specifies 10 feet)...

Then follow the directions:

There's nothing magic about it -- this is what a shop would do.

Although some shops may have a real headlight aiming device, most places don't and they will just wing it against a wall til the match the sides together and then aim them down little, ignoring any actual factory specified measurements. If they do have the device and use the factory specs then it it can be done perfectly but you will pay for this service, possibly alot more than you expect.

But you can do this yourself with a little patience.

I am attaching the oem alignment documents, it shows which adjustments do what and what distances to follow.

I know these jpg conversions can be hard to read the text, if you PM me your email I will send you the original unmodified PDF that is better resolution and easy to read.

Really need a long skinny flatblade, as you have to turn the little gears when looking down from the top. Very tedious to do, but the inner ones you can get an 8mm ratchet wrench onto for the high beams.

There are also a holes on each left and right upper radiator support these are there to be able to put a tool (the skinny flat blade) through it and reach down and adjust the outer most adjusters on the lights. That the sole purpose of those holes being there.

Skinny flat blade would be better... I did some of mine with a ratchet and it sucked. The horizontal low beam is hard to reach and u wont have much room with turns. Tedious indeed! Now that i know why the holes are there i'll try that next. Thanks for the posts.
