Apexi neo
I'm getting my apexi neo soon and I have a few question:
1. I want to try tuning my gs4 myself. Is it difficult to tune a car yourself or should I take it to a professional with a dyno. I am car savvy.
2. If I should just let a pro do it does anyone know of a good shop in Cali.
3. How do you tune with a neo?
4. How do you put your car back to stock settings after you tune?
Thanks in advance. Sorry if some of these are noob questions. I'm new to tuning.

Ps: for anyone that's still on the washers and the exhaust thing: I ended up taking them off because they got to loud but other than that everything ran smooth and I got compliments on the sound. The washer was very thin.

if you are new to tuning, which you say you are, i would leave it to a professional. the results could be catastrophic.
that and you put washers between your bolts to make your exhaust louder.

Everyone really has to downgrade the thread so much? Sheesh.
To answer your question I'd take it to a professional. Tuning is way different than unbolting and bolting on new components. I'm pretty sure it has some electronic work to it too, so with that being said I'd just pay to have it done right.

electrical part isnt the hard part.. if you have extra cash you can get a boomslang. all you do is solder or join the wires together with your ECU harness.... power, air in, air out, rpm, knock, etc etc.
this has been discussed before and quite a few people run NEOs SAFC SAFCII. run a search on it and see what they say about it.
when you messup your tune.. say.. too rich for an extended period of time you risk melting your cats.. which cost a lot to replace.
running too lean you risk having engine knocks and later BOOM.

I would love to tune my GS4 myself and I will probably be getting a similar tuner in the future but because it's my daily I will be letting someone else do the tuning who has experience. More than anything I would just want to have someone else tune it so that I know that they got as much out of the tune as they could. I have experimented with parts on my car that were as cost effective as possible and they have worked out pretty well for me but if I was able I would have just bought nice parts and saved myself a lot of trouble fixing lower quality parts. I think the same can be said about tuning. Spend the money and have a pro do it. Good luck!

Lol. I can't stop laughing. Make sure you have a couple grand and a good mechanic that can swap a motor before you install the neo. To bad your clear on the opposite side of the country I got two motors that need a home. GOOD LUCK!! Oh btw don't do it. Don't touch the cars ecu. Pay 500 for the install and tune it's less that a motor.

did they make older models of this that someone may be selling for under $550
