Default Broken BJ northern IL

Saw a nice white 01-05 GS on the way to work with the dreaded broken left front ball joint.... I don't think it tore up the fender, but that isn't a pretty sight!

OP what streets/area did it happen on? Some of the roads in the city are absolutely terrible. Be careful if you're ever in Chicago!

It wasn't my GS4 that broke a joint, someone elses (maybe they are a forum member), I would have stopped but no one was there.

My left joint is new, right will be changed as soon as I can get some decent weather, but I greased it up when it the left side started squeaking. Figured it would buy me time.

Gotcha. I bet the roads aren't as bad there as they are in the actual city. It's like avoiding spikes on the road.

Nope, not NEAR as bad as the city. But the problem you run into is you are often going faster when you nail them.... I have 16's for that reasons, safer and more forgiving in the holes. I want to go 17, but concerned on that.

I want to delegate my 16's to snow duty!

I have the OEM 17's and I'm just about to hit 90k miles and my LBJ's are still good but I'm replacing them any how in a few weeks when the weather completely clears up. I think a one inch increase in wheel size won't be a very drastic change as opposed to get 19's or something. Then again, I've never driven around that area. Best of luck if you decide to increase the wheel size. I've driven gs's with the stock 16's and with the one inch increase in rim size I can already feel the handling difference.
