Default Hood misaligned

Hello All,

Just got my 2015 GS 350 a few weeks ago. Noticed that there is a misalignment of the hood near the front grill. Is it possible to have the service dept align the hood or front grill to correct this misalignment?

Lexus has been known for precise lines on their body panels. This is my 3rd GS I've had over the years and they've always looked perfect.

Please advise.

Thank you.

I would take it to the GM of the dealership and demand a fix or a new car.

Can you post some pics? I really want to see what 2015 look like

Why go straight to the GM? I suppose he should call an Attorney too.

No need to over react. Take it to the service department. My experience with Lexus dealers has been that the service departments bend over backwards to correct problems.

Hello. I finally was able to post the photo of the misaligned hood. Please check it out. Its where the hood meets the front grill. I'm hoping it can be addressed by Lexus Service.

Thanks.https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ima...ilies/woot.gif

Let me see where the hood meets the fender on both sides. There is an adjustable rubber **** under the hood on each side to adjust the hood height.

I think you just need to adjust the rubber bumpers under the hood to make sure both bumpers slightly compress (contact) the underside of the hood when fully closed. They are simple to adjust by screwing in or out with your fingers. When they are properly adjusted you should not be able to press down (or move) either side of the front portion of the hood with your hand when the hood is fully closed - in other words, the under side of the hood should be contacting the rubber bumpers equally...and the hood's alignment gap should be the same.

That's a very easy fix. Lexus can do.

I hope you're right. I went by the dealership this past weekend to chat with a service adviser. He didn't seem to confident that anything could be done. But maybe one of the actual service guys would know what to do. The first service isn't due until Feb or March 2015. When I bring it in for the first appointment I'll discuss it with my service manager. It's a little disappointing that at $60K vehicle was allowed to pass QC with the gap larger on one side where the hood meets the grill. I hope that the service department can offer some type of correction.

Where the driver's side of the hood meets the leading edge of the left front fender-does the hood feel slightly lower in height when you put your forefinger in the gap?

When I brought our Lexus in for 20k, the service manager told me they could not change how the door stays locked when put in park....the technician said oh sure I can do that. And also said he could do another task the service manager said couldn't be done.

The manager sits in a chair inside all day, the techs do the hands on. Push the issue enough and they will take care of it. Lexus, from what I've seen so far, is all about customer satisfaction. Never had such a good experience with a car dealer/manufacturer.
