Motor Trend has the changes on the 2015. Not much.

Since the 4gs entered production in 2012 as a 2013 model, it's barely 2 years old. I wouldn't expect the 2015 to make radical changes. At best I would expect a mild refresh with better guts for the infotainment system and a system that doesn't require your phone for a data connection.

Looks like the 2015 is only getting a new exterior color added and Lexus is finally updating the multimedia, so we'll finally see 3D maps in the GS.
I remember numerous people did the swap on 3GS, when Lexus updated screen resolution, menus and maps on 2007+ GS. Then it was just the unit that needed to be swapped. I think it's possible to do the same on 4GS, but I doubt its the head unit that needs to be changed, it could be the HDD is where Lexus stores the software, but I can be wrong.
I also think that our current units are capable to run the new software, but of course Lexus will refuse to do an upgrade.

I'll ask around to see if I can find out whether there was a hardware change to support Gen 8 Enform on the 2015 GS. It's possible that it's just software, but offering the upgrade is actually a marketing decision. The major change in the head unit is coming in 2016.

Note that the gen 8 buttons on the RTI are different. On gen 7, the buttons are "MAP/VOICE" and "MENU". On gen 8 they are "MENU" and "HOME".

It needs a new engine. Hopefully the 2016 GS-F will refresh the engines across the board.

Without significant upgrades to the interface and head unit on a 2015 I will pass on a new one. Disappointing after having held off 4 months to find out. Looks like an RCF sport!
