How often do you completely power down your phone? I've seen issues where the car thinks it's on a call when it's not. Did a hard reset of the phone and it fixed the issue. Strange things can happen with iPhones (or really most phones) if they aren't restarted very often.

Find out if there is an Emergency Repair available by Lexus. Usually applies while the item is still under warranty.
Meaning, if you replaced a Battery on Sunday due to its malfunctioning, when you cant take it to the dealer. they will reimburse you fully.
if they do have such service, replace it and send them the bill.

The map voice from the phone?

Correct. I prefer to use a map app on my phone to the incredibly tedious and restrictive nav system. Until I began having the problem the phone map app voice would come through loud and clear, no matter which mode the nav/audio system was set to. Not anymore.

I'm going to have to try that on mine. Never used the phone map only stream music.

I do have mine set to Bluetooth streaming media. I don't think it'll work if u have it on radio or DVD cause ur phone only streams sound when it's on Bluetooth mode.
I think u really have a faulty unit man.

Update: I took the car in to Lexus today and spoke with the technology guy. He said, as several CL members have, that the phone voice is supposed to work only through BT in the car (it does). He avoided the question of why it worked when in radio mode by saying that "maybe it was working through the BT phone part of the connection" whatever that means. I suspect that a recent Google Maps upgrade knocked out the voice-through-the-car feature.
With regard to the screen blanking out, he said that it was likely either a plug or pin that was not fully seated, causing intermittent contact, or a bad head unit. Problem is they have to see it crapped out before they can repair/replace. I have it on record now twice that the problem has happened repeatedly, and I will run right over when it happens again.
Thanks again to everyone on CL for their help and suggestions!
