Am I the only one that thinks the Mark Levinson system in our car sucks?

I'm confused.

This is a main thread and on subject.
And to answer your question, no you are not alone. Main stream consumer will think ML sucks. I dont think it sucks but I did get what I paid for.
My audio-video system (as audio BW and as video Pioneer) costed as much as my lux 450H. Thats why I cant complain based on what I have achieved in what I subjectively selected and assembled in my homes ecosystem.
A car is an ecosystem as well, on wheels. Your appreciating depends on how much time you spend in this ecosystem. I would say someone driving 4 hours a day differs from someone with 30 min a day. Thus perception of what audio can achieve differs as well.

Sure you could get a better sounding system for for near the same amount of money that you paid the dealer but it wouldn't fit into the car as well, and you'd see the obvious modifications. Or you could go crazy and spend 10-50k and have an insane system.
It all comes down to what you want, what you listen to, and what you like. Other than a retired audiophile, I'm a connoisseur of wine, beer and food, and the one thing I tell people who ask me recommendations on wines is: It doesn't matter what anyone else likes, says is amazing or recommends, you're the one that matters so go with whatever you like the most. Ignore anyone that looks down on you because you don't appreciate the same things they appreciate.

Its a really nice automobile system....certainly not the best and far from the worse. It in no way compares to a fine home sound system. As long as you can play your music at a volume of your liking and adjust bass/treble without blowout and still maintain good quality sound then the system is nice....remember, we only paid what $1,300 for it?

Wow you dug down to China and dug that thread up, well done. The 3GS had a much more capable processing unit for decoding HD audio.

I never head how an ML system sounds on the GS so don't have much of an opinion on that end but will say my wife's 2017 Luxury Package RX has it and I am very impressed by not only the sheer power it has but how hard you can push it without sounding distorted or clipping. It's very tight, clear and mid-range/mid-bass especially is superb. I have the regular audio in my GS and is ok at best nothing terrible but not great either it's just meh especially if I compare it to my wife's RX system. However, if the ML system in the GS sounds anything like in the RX ML system then yes it's impressive.

ML in my current 22 IS350 sounds better than the ML I had in my 2016 GS. By far, the best sound system we have had was not even ML. We had the RSE in our 2010 RX350, that sounded fantastic.

Does anyone know if the 86280-33310 amp from a 2019 RX can replace the 86280-53190 from a 2014 IS F-Sport? They appear to have the same female inputs with the exception of the extra input on the 2019 RX model. I'm told that extra input is for another set of speakers the RX has and wouldn't affect anything. Before I make the purchase (which is about $300 cheaper than the OEM for my F-Sport), I'd like to make sure what I was told is correct.
