Squeaky F-Sport front brakes
#17
My brakes don't squeak but my dealer suggested changing the pads to the Euro version which is apparently different. Service is scheduled on Tuesday where they will also install the H&R lowering springs. Will report on both when I get the car back.

I have had the same issue. I have been to two different dealers a total of 4 different times. Nonetheless, my brakes are still squeaking. I have gotten so frustrated that I am dealing with it. Of course they can never replicate the sound when I am there. I am glad I am leasing. I know I wont purchase this car.

Well, I just bought a pre-owned 13' F sport with 5,300 miles this weekend. I was enjoying it last night with the GF and noticed a car in front of me with squealing breaks. As we pulled into a subdivision to look at Christmas lights, I heard the noise again. I turned down the Christmas music and realized,,, it's the F SPORT brakes! After 30 min. of looking at Christmas lights to the sound of squealing breaks, we called it a night! lol I'm taking it in to the dealership in the morning to check it out. By the way, RWD car.

High performance brake pads use a more aggressive pad compound. This causes the brakes to emit more noise. The F Sport Package, on RWD models, was designed for increased performance. Consequently, this was a conscious engineering trade-off.

What do you mean by "undated" parts? Dealer is coming out with parts to fix this problem?

We actually heard it for the first time but I figures it was b/c it was very cold and we went on a short trip. My Jun BBK brakes also squeak sometimes and I just chalk it up to owning a high performance brake.
For those that might know, the Lexus GS F-sport has a huge 14" or so front brake and its actually a true 2 piece rotor, the only car in its class with it and honestly I don't think any car short of supercars offers this. Not even the IS F has a 2 piece rotor, its a 1 piece brembo.
What it does is offer less weight and less unsprung weight helps with handling.
