Default Redoing Front Grill

I was looking at my front grill today and it looks awful!! The fins aren't black anymore and I am not a big fan of the chrome trim. So I have been thinking about plasti-diping the grill and the emblems. I am thinking cover the grill in black and do the front and rear Lexus emblems in Gun metal. Maybe do the ARISTO lettering in the tail lights in gun metal too. What have you guys done to your front grill and emblems?

Default Grill

What color is the GS? I actually am in the middle of repainting both my emblems front/back....I personally like the original look. Gold "L" Black grill, Chrome trim. I'd be interested to see. But I personally like the original look just with restored luster.

My GS is black. I have never really been a big fan of the gold emblems on a black car.

I've plasti dipped my grill. It's all black. Emblem, fins and chrome - all black everything! I like how it looks. I also plasti dipped my emblems on the back of the car. When I get the car painted, I will have the Lexus emblem removed. I only want the L in the middle.

Can you post some pics. Yeah I only want the L in the middle too. I have Aristo tails so I definitely want to remove the GS300 emblems.

I would like to see pics of how blacked out grills look on the car as well. I have a pearl white GS and was looking to black it all out.

Default Pictures of the Plasti Dip....

I've attached pictures of the grill and the rear emblems. Please look pass the fact that the car is in desperate need of a thorough cleaning. I plan on having it washed and waxed this weekend. I will load updated pictures once that is done.

When I get the car painted, I will end up removing the Lexus emblem in the rear. This will only leave the L right above the GS300.

Your grill looks good. Is that just a matte black? I am thinking about doing a gloss black and leaving the front and rear "L" silver.

Thanks! Yes, it's a matte black. That sounds like it would look good. I wanted everything to be blacked out.

How would I go about painting the letters, grill, and symbols? I need some tips!

I was thinking Plasti-Dip Matte black, and then just using a tooth pick to feel off the rest of it. What do you guys think?

As far as the emblems on the back, I would suggest taking them off the car and then spraying them. This way, you reduce the amount of work needed taping the newspaper around the emblems. This will give you the cleanest look with not a lot to clean up afterwards.
