1GS vs Gas Prices
Hey CL's,
Does anybody know what we should be getting for gas mileage?
My GS is slurping up the fuel! 450km to a tank.
How big are our tanks (70 liters)?
The gas prices are insane in Vancouver, Canada at a $1.46 a liter...that's about $5.80 a gallon!!!
What's the gas prices in your area...I might just move so i can afford to keep driving my GS.
Cheers,

$4.59/gallon for premium here in SoCal. I average about 18-19 mpg, but most of the driving is city. I've been able to get 22 mpg hwy in it, but I've never seen the EPA's estimated 23 hwy.

4.89 here in San Diego.
I think my meter might be off by a bit. my gas needle sits right on top of the E, so i go to fill her up. after 12 gallons my tank is full, wtf.
then today i'm right on the E, i put in $20 and get about 3.6 or so gallons, and i get just above quarter tank.
So when I fill up full tank, I get about 310-315 miles per gallon mix of street and highway before the needle is sitting on at the top of the E. I remember when i got 435 before

Well in the summer i've been getting better milage. Cost me 94$ to fill up my last fill on Ultra 94 @ 1.48$ L
I had the AC on most of the time, I boosted maybe 10 times, and i usually drive 120km or 70MPH on the highway.
All that lasted 420KM... Not the best but certantly not as bad as my singled supra. Soon as the supra is stable and on the road I think i'm going to have to give up my aristo and pick up a TDI jetta because 60$ for 1000KM i can handle not 94 for 420. Even worse in the winter!

Hey Kudos,
Atleast your getting 450kms per tank. I think I can only get like 400kms per tank!! I dont know why!!!
everytime I fill up, I end up spending around $90CAD or my guess now with our current prices, it will be at $100cad! YIKES!!

40$ gets me Monday-Saturday. M-F is to work and home, then i ride my bike to my neighbors to kick it all day, then when i go out on weekends, I usually drive to the meet up point and someone else drives from there. So Im managing to only spend 40$ a week....50 TOPS!

I get about 16-17 in the city or stop and go traffic. And register about 23.7 on average hwy with little to no traffic. I didnt do a correction factor for my 265-35-18 tires comparo to stock tho.

Hi Guys
New to forum, already found lots of useful info and some great looking Mk1s!
Thought I'd make you guys smile a bit, Gas in the Uk, is kinda expensive. Currently £1.20 per litre, so with the exchange rates about $2 to the £, that $2.40 per litre, or about $10 per Gallon. Last fill up on my GS cost me £85, or $170. Thats a lot of cash!!!
On the bright side, at least our cheapest fuel is 95ron, and the best is 101ron, so if you have a boosted engine, at least we can wind them up well.
Enjoying the forums

I avg. 22 mpg. On a side note my brother and mom both have IS 300s and they are getting less mpg than I am. One would think the GS should be getting less due to fact that it is a heavier car, but I also have been driving with a light foot and maintaining my rpm under 2.5. I also notice that I get less mpg on a full tank of BP gas rather than Shell or Speedway.
