Highway stability in crosswind
I've had a 95 GS for almost a year now, and the one thing that still bothers me about it is an apparent lack of stability on the highway in a crosswind. Dallas isn't known for gale force winds, but occassionally the wind kicks up a bit and the car is flat out hard to keep in the same lane. Anyone else find it hard to keep the car on line in a crosswind? Even without wind the car is harder to keep on line but it's manageable.
My tires are in good condition, the suspension is stock (115K) and probably needs to be replaced, but I wouldn't think that would cause this much drift. Anyone have any ideas as to the cause? Maybe bad suspension bushings?

I would reccomend lowering the car for a lower and stable stance. If you need brand new eibach springs and shocks, I have them for sale in the classified section.

Hey what's up man I'm in dallas, too. I have noticed the same thing as you, but I assumed it was because, with the window trim sticking out, it is channeling the wind down the middle pillar behind the front door. There is a lot of dirt all the way down when I open my door on that side so I know that is what is happening.
That has to screw up the areodynamics of the car, especially when there is a crosswind.

Hey LexAristo - that might be an option and I haven't priced that in the market yet, but when I bought them for my 300Z several years ago (same combination Eibach and KYB) they were those prices new. It looks like yours are used. Is that the case? How used? If used, why are they now off the car? Also, if you can provide a bottom dollar on them that would help me. I do agree they are a great aftermarket replacement option which is why I'm interested.
Thx

I'm probably not up for spending that kind of cash at this point, but thanks for letting me know you had them.
I'm surprised few others seem to have the same driving experiences I do. Maybe there's something wrong with my car that I hadn't noticed yet.

I would recommend having your suspension checked out and probably having the car realigned. I have a '94 and we get Santa Ana winds here in SoCal and I have never found the car wanting for stability in high winds. I have also had some trips to and from Vegas in some pretty good winds. There has been debris, etc. blowing around outside the car, but I haven't had any issues with stability.
