Hi all, I recently noticed that I start hearing some tiny squeaks coming from the suspension somewhere when I get on or off the car, or rock the car from the inside
I have a 2011 with 70k miles, always been a CA car
Just wanted to know if anyone else notice such squeaks, and whether they are a sign of rusted parts or bad springs or anything i need to worry about. Thanks!
It could be a number of things. It could be worn shocks.
If you're rocking the car and it's squeaking without much compression, my guess would be the springs and the rubber piece its sitting on is making the squeak. You can add some grease between those pieces. However, since that requires taking everything apart, you may as well put new shocks in.
That was my first guess shocks. I had a similiar situation on my previous F. The squeak came from the right rear. I could have sworn it was the suspension but it turned out to be the exhaust bolts being loose.
Whats annoying is once you are off the original factory noises and rattles are no longer covered. They will charge you to look into it, If it drives you nuts its worth it. I ended dropping a couple hundred dollars to get them to chase down a seat squeak I had after a few track days. Worth it in my book
