Default Fix for Creaking and Rattling Doors

Did this on my BMW first and recently did it to my Lexus with same awesome outcome...

I’ve read many threads on people complaining about their doors rattling and creaking at parking lot speeds and rough roads. I thought I would share my solution.

Go to Walmart and get a box of Velcro. ¾ inch is the smallest they have in width. Prior to taping it on the striker plate, cut about 3mm off of the side so it can perfectly fit. Clean the striker plates before sticking it on.

Here is how it looks:

Use the felt side of the Velcro.

After doing this, I no longer had ANY creaking or rattles coming from my doors. Perfect "mod"

I can't imagine even the cheapest made modern vehicle would have door latches that rattle. Is the weather-stripping worn-out and compressed?

These owners heard and fixed their rattles:

If you have squeaks from the rubber trim that some cars have you can also use nextzett gummi pledge. My M3 had tons of noise from this and conditioning the rubber trim can prevent squeaking from the doors when driving.

Vinnie don't let other people get you down or change your behavior just because they think they know everything. Just be who you are and F@ck the rest of them.

I proved him wrong in this post. Just because they don't admit it is a personal problem.

As I said; "Out of the hundreds of vehicles I've owned and ridden in I have never seen one where the door latch rattled." Maybe you have, but not me. I'm not sure what you don't understand about my statement.

Thanks for the tip! I heard a random rattle from the passenger side door the other day. I wonder if this might be it.

Dang y'all, chill. Thanks for sharing your experience and solution. While you may not appreciate another's blunt statement of personal experience that's contrary to your personal experience, there's no need to be defensive or offensive in response.

I've read many threads of people having rattles and creaks in 4GS cars, some tied back to the handle by the headliner (does anybody even use those?) to the door seals squeaking to the moon roof. Also read many posts where people noticed no creaks or rattles in their cars. And now there's one tied to the door latch.

What I wonder is does this mod in any way affect the safe operation of the door latch?

Ok I found the solution to my rattles! The grab handle. I used WD-40 on the springs. Find all of the solutions to the rattles here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...er-s-side.html

And to people who have never had have never heard a door latch rattle even though you have hundreds of vehicles I've owned and ridden in, congratulations on your 70th birthday. I will gladly get you a hearing aid. Or read DIY 3 of 3.
