Yes they can. I have changed just pads around 25K miles. Ordered OEM pads from online, and took it to an independent mechanic rather than using the dealer. The dealer wanted way too much just to change pads.

You can put new pads in without changing or resurfacing rotors the first time...takes less time to swap out pads then it does to jack up the car and pull a wheel off...

Yes, you can just swap pads but if you have a little wheel shake then I would recommend to resurface

If you have wheel shake/vibration then you have warped rotors and need new ones....turning them won't help

Yes... that would help, they measure with a ruler if thick enough based rules/law and re-surface, I think you can do it twice in lifetime of rotors, that's what this procedure for...

Not on the GS but I recently had my pads changed on my 2010 RX350 around 95k (original pads) and my rotors started squealing. So I had the shop resurface my rotors. I still couldn't get rid of the squeaks and squeals so I had to get new rotors. I've learned that from now on when ever I change out my pads i will just get new rotors.

My mechanic say the two piece rotor is made out of soft metal so resurfacing them mostly out of spec and this my second brake pads. I have to change my brake pads every 15k. My rotor have lip on the outside and the inside. My gs have 30k mile on it.

LOL....hopefully Centric or Stop Tech makes some affordable replacement rotors for these 2 pc rotors. Otherwise we'll be stuck with OE rotors costing $250.00+ a piece. I try not turn rotors as well. I just change pads, and the front rotors can take about 2-3 pad changes with no turning. When they start to vibrate, it's time to change the rotors. Yes you can turn them, but sooner or later the vibrations come back because the rotors got too thin from turning and get warped.

any1 know the spec for the rotor? the minimum thickness? I tried searching on ALLDATA they give out wrong info saying its 17" and 18" rotor but im sure ours is like 13". Or if some1 have a gs350 f sport rotor laying around can you take a pic of the back of the rotor to see whats the minimum thickness on it. Thanks
