For those with factory remote starter.

My enform expired and I did not renew for I used it zero times. What I noticed that I can't remote start my vehicle anymore with the fob via the 3 steps (click lock twice quickly and hold lock the third time until light blinks).

I have read in various CL forums that users are able to use the fob to start their vehicles after enform expired and others said they couldn't.

Would like to hear from 4GS owners on their experiences and what I can do to get the fob remote starter to work again.

It is useless since it shuts the car off on approach but it coud warm the car up on the coming winter.

Wow that's a bunch of horse crap. A subscription is necessary to use the already weak key fob remote start? Absolutely no telematics is required when using the fob.

Canadian vehicle so no Enform and no remote start from day one
Had to go third party.

Hmmm a lot of ambiguous info on Key fob with Enform vs Fob without, Fob after Enform expiration. Before I subscripted to Enform, I was able to start the car with the fob even though the dealer (Lexus Technology Specialist) stated Enform was required for remote start. Just received 6 month Extended Complimentary Trial of Lexus Enform Services, so won't know for a while.

You have a '13 GS right? Seems to have changed with the '14 & '15 models. Well, Enform remote wasn't available for the '13s anyways.

I think a piece of my soul just died that I can't utilize the fob remote starter when it is a paid equipment in the vehicle and requires additional subscription that's over priced and lacks value.. Thank you Lexus but I still love the car at an average 19-20 mpg..

'14s don't have Enform remote either...I have the OEM remote start on my '14 and it works without any Enform sub.

If they are now killing the OEM fob remote start without a sub on '15s, that's just ridiculous...

Cancelled every subscription I have on my 15 GS only thing I have is sirius XM radio.
Now days you buy an Luxury car you need to also pay for the AD ONS full of Bull Cr@p.

I just ended my relationship with Sirius XM today and my 1 yr traffic trial will end on August 2nd and I will not renew it either. Back to iPhone for traffic and location finder.

XM sounds like crap anyway, it puts my ML to shame.
